TreePerch ~ One of the MicroPerch Series Kit House Designs

Take a flight around our “TreePerch Two” dwelling primarily meant for tropical and sub-tropical locations!

Utilizing panelized technology: Steel Structural Insulated Panels (S.S.I.P) to qualify for high-performance Energy Star rating. Designed for mass production. The exterior deck area is designed to accommodate seasonal use of greenhouse and/or solarium functions.  Use of optional greenhouse/solarium is essential for the generation of heat resource during the winter months.

You are about to see a variety of small to midsize dwellings known as TreePerch.

There are four basic designs within the family of TreePerch Dwellings.

TreePerch Basic   – a = 200 b = 140  d = 340 c = 300 (at shaded area beneath dwelling)

TreePerch One      – a = 200 b = 140  d = 340 c = 300 (at shaded area beneath dwelling)

TreePerch Two      – a = 400 b = 380  d = 780 c = 700 (at shaded area beneath dwelling)

    TreePerch Three   – a = 600 b = 480  d = 1080 c = 1000 (at shaded area beneath dwelling)

a. = net interior footage  b. = net exterior footage  c. = shaded area at grade footage d. = total dwelling footages

All of these designs are meant to address:

  • High affordability due to utilizing on-site labor by owner/occupant

  • Potential interior build-out buy owner/occupant reduces cost

  • All panelized components are very lightweight thereby avoiding the need for lift machinery

  • Protection for people ranging from safety from insects to predatory hazards like criminals

  • Occupant security is enhanced with optional hinged elevating stairs

  • Optional stand-alone power capability (off-grid)

  • Outstanding protection from sun exposure

  • Rainwater collection and distribution capability

  • Production of food stocks and soil nutrients

  • Kit assembly requires no equipment or specialized tools due to light-weight component design

  • Panelized steel SIP technology delivers long-lasting durability and fire-resistance

  • Greenhouse/solarium providing owner/occupant heating options and edible plant growing options

TreePerch Series Optional Systems

  • Rainwater collection, storage, and distribution system

  • 12 Volt DC electrical system or connection to public utilities

  • Potable water filtration system

  • Galvanized metal planting troughs 60 inches by 30 inches by 24 inches high (NOM)

  • Hinged security ladder

  • Dry composting toilet

  • Vertical horticulture growing racks

  • Translucent plastic panel awnings

TreePerch Basic

This is our most inexpensive design to purchase and assemble.  Cost per module $6,000.  This basic design enables occupants to obtain locally available materials ranging from bamboo to woven mats which can serve as walls. Basic and full-capacity electrification systems are optionally available. This design provides all primary structural members along with a complete roofing system.  This roofing system is characteristic of all TreePerch Designs in that it can support green roof applications.  The primary benefit of developing country occupants is being able to utilize this green roof for growing edible plants far removed from invasive insects and wildlife as well as thieves.

TreePerch One

This configuration is suitable for both tropical and temperate zone localities The principal difference between TreePerch One and TreePerch Basic is the use steel SIP wall and floor sections which provide a fully insulted enclosure on all six sides.  TreePerch One conside one module that provides the basic amenities deemed essential to meet occupant needs.  Such as toilet, shower, sink, interior water storage and heating when applicable.

TreePerch Two

This variation delivers approximately twice as much interior space as compared to TreePerch One.  TreePerch One units can be expanded to a TreePerch Two size by adding one additional module.  In this way it is feasible for the owner/occupant to expand living space when it is financially feasible to do so.  Regarding the applicable options listed above the scale of some of the systems must be increased to serve larger space areas.  For example when the second module for TreePerch Two is added it will be necessary to increase PV electrical power generation.

TreePerch Three

This largest variation utilizes the addition of a third module similar to the description given regarding TreePerch Two.  In this way it becomes possible for the occupant/owner to expand and improve their living quarters overtime.

The images provided below illustrate factory interior layout and design.  However, the owner/occupant can opt to build out interiors for future kitchen, bathroom, and loft level sleeping quarters.

Architect’s Sketch of Alternative TreePerch design provided to accompany construction drawings

Alternative TreePerch design utilizing dimensional lumber for primary framing.  Note steel cable framing illustrated at outer most edge of deck. These cables serve two purposes.  One is structural support. Second is attachment points for seasonal deployable greenhouse solarium insulated panels. The resulting enclosures provide potential for winter time edible plant production.  This design element is inherent in all MicroPerch designs.
